The homemade recipe with beef for dogs on a cooked diet is here! Beef is a great option for a cooked homemade diet for dogs. This meat has very beneficial effects on a dog’s body. It contains iron, zinc, calcium, as well as vitamin B, and contributes to the healthy functioning of joints and teeth. When feeding your dog homemade food, it is important to work with fresh and high-quality ingredients. Meat suitable for cooking for dogs can be purchased frozen. It is important that the meat does not contain bones.
Ingredients you will need:
- 1 kg frozen beef with offal (boneless)
- pumpkin
- spelt flakes
- flaxseed oil
- kelp powder
- eggshells for dogs
Instructions
Steam the beef with offal. This way, the meat retains valuable nutrients that are often lost when boiling in water. After steaming, let the meat cool down or place it in an ice bag to quickly change its temperature. This method enhances the flavor of the meat.
Scoop out the pumpkin and steam it as well. Once it softens, let it cool.
Cook the spelt flakes according to the instructions on the package.
Flaxseed oil provides your dog with essential Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids, which are great for supporting muscles, bones, and a healthy coat.
Kelp powder contains many important natural minerals and vitamins, while ground eggshells for dogs, used as a substitute for raw bones, are an excellent source of calcium.
Once all the ingredients have cooled, portion the food into freezer bags and freeze it.
Daily serving of cooked food for dogs
At the beginning of feeding a cooked diet, it’s recommended to follow the suggested daily intake for dogs, which is 2-3% of the dog’s body weight. However, over time, it’s important to monitor your dog to ensure they maintain their desired weight and adjust the portions accordingly.
This is the recommended daily portion for a 10 kg dog with a daily serving size of 250 g. The recipe follows the recommended ratio of ingredients: 65% meat, 25% vegetables, and 10% grains. To measure the correct amount of food, we recommend using a kitchen scale. For dogs with sensitive digestion, it’s advisable to divide the daily portion into smaller meals and feed them multiple times a day.
